Samos International Airport (SMI), is a small one-terminal airport and this means that you mostly arrive and leave. Before leaving make sure to collect your luggage from the baggage claim area in the arrivals hall.

Food and beverages at Samos International Airport

There are no eateries or places to drink in the arrivals area of the airport, but there is a coffee place in the landside departures area for anyone to use.

Lost and found at Samos Airport

For items lost at the airport please check with the Airport Information Counters, and for items lost in the transfer to or from the airport please contact the ground-transportation company directly.

In the case of needing medical emergency attention the airport’s first aid spots are at the visitors’ service. For any further assistance in a medical emergency please turn your request to the Airport Information Counters directly. The airport staff will help you locate them if needed.

There are several ATMs at the airport with one located in the all users area, another one in arrivals on airside and one in the arrivals all users area.

Currency exchange desks are located in the arrivals area of the airport, one on airside and one in the all users area. 

WiFi at Samos Airport

To use the airport’s network you simply have to connect to the network named “Fraport-Free” and launch the browser of your choice to visit the welcome page. The use is completely free and unlimited.

Smoking at Samos Airport

Smoking is not allowed inside in public areas in Greece and there are no smoking facilities within the airport facility. Smoking is only allowed outside of the terminal. 

Transfers at Samos International Airport

There are three options of transfers to/from Samos Airport: rental cars, taxis or buses. 

Rental cars – the rental car companies at Samos Airport are located in the arrivals/all users area of the airport. It is usually best to pre-book your choice of vehicle ahead of time.

Taxis – the official airport taxis are found right outside the terminal at the taxi rank. The 24/7 metered taxis are only placed there during the airport’s opening hours of 06.00-22.00. The fare will depend on the distance of your journey, size of company and luggage, time of day and day of the week, but tends to be somewhere around 25-30€. The journey time is around 30 minutes depending on traffic. 

Buses – the buses leave from the bus stop located outside the airport terminal exit and they leave for Samos, with stops in several locations such as Pythagorio, 8 times a day on weekdays and 3 times a day on Saturday. The buses don’t run on Sundays or bank holidays.

A single ticket for an adult is 2€ and is purchased from the bus driver at the time of boarding the bus. Children under the age of 6 ride for free in adult company.

Shuttles

Some hotels offer to organise airport shuttle service for their guests, usually at an additional fee, and charter tour operators often have transfers pre-organised for their customers.

Ferries

While you can’t transfer from the airport using a ferry you can transfer to other islands and even both the Turkish and the Greek mainland by hopping on a ferry. There are 3 ports on Samos with routes to a total of over 60 ports in the surrounding areas.
